I nearly forgot, players should also be sponsored in such a way that their clothes, cars, haircuts and tattoos are free. Yes and they need a whopping big winter break, say: late September until May.
It's about time these hard working professional's plight was recognised. Nobody should be asked to play more than five minutes each way. A player should be paid £1,000,000 for turning up, £1,000,000 for any and every contact with the ball or another player and £1,000,000,000 for scoring a goal. Oh yes and fans, the media and everybody in the world must be banned from criticising or complaining.
British weather being what it is, what happens if the two weeks off coincide with decent weather? In this country, that's highly probable.Isn't that going to cause a worse log jam later on if there are subsequent (or previous) bad weather cancellations?
While the football league that have to play more games in smaller squads don't...... Sounds about right
The vast majority of professional footballers I've seen interviewed, say they do not want or need a winter break, so it beats me as to why this decision has been made.
1006. Posted by LuThe and of course they will I seem to remember man utd getting preferential treatment to go to the world club cup to profit form the games there it still make no sense same amount of games with 14 days less to play them equals fixture congestion and tired players
Window dressing, will still go on lucrative merchandise shifting tours in "close season".
Yet more eveidence of how soft todays players are compared to years gone by - no real men playing the game anymore, just little boys who are way too full of themselves!
How did DogLeash get a Knighthood? Was it for t-shirt printing?
1012. Scooby.Couldn't have put it better myself. Poor little lambs!
Complaint: Too many games. Solution: Play exactly the same number of games. Only real solutions, cut size of Premiership or get rid of second cup competition. No chance of course.
This may benefit the clubs, but the FA is wrong to say it will benefit the national team. Top players from all over the world play in the Premiereship. Do Brazil, Germany, Spain, France etc blame poor performances because their players play too many games in the Prem? If anything, it's the foreign players in the Prem that will see the benefit.
Football in 2025. Ref. blows whistle, player kicks ball, ref blows whistle again. End of match. Players complain they are knackered having had to walk onto pitch. Back to Ferrari in car park, drive to tattoo studio for more body art, then to hairstylist for daft haircut. Pick up £200k for finding the club they are playing for. Complain about being knackered again. Go on holiday to recover.
Hardly fits the meaning of break when both weekends matches played even if it's half of teams. And, break is not what you call when two third of season is over.
