Never fulfilled his potential for Everton but he is a good finisherUnder Martinez the Everton manager at the time he started to go too deep to get the ball
I may be a cynical old git, but this stinks to high heavenObviously the deal in the summer fell through for genuine reasonsNobody could possibly have suggested he turn the offer down, only for him and Chelsea to spit the difference in transfer fee half a season laterThat would be unethical and none of the parties involved have ever been unethical
He’s a good player, no doubt... but we don’t seem to be able to develop English/British talent (Gareth Bale aside, perhaps) as well as we should. I’m thinking about Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, maybe Dwight Gale, Andy Carroll, Joe Cole, etc... It seems as if these bright stars are always injured - or never given a consistent position and role in the team. Hoping for the best for Ross Barkley.

Interesting signing. Was talented youngster but seemed to lose his way and develop bad attitude. With Conte as coach wont be long before we find out if hes gonna knuckle down and become the player he showed potential as, or is kicked into the long grass.Could be inspired signing or a disaster.
quality player but unfortunately he's like gazza in more ways than 1, app martinez was shown vids of his benders and therefore didnt play him, he's doing what we all would dream aboout and gettin paid fortune for doin it, so he needs to get down and sweaty and show us he's as good as we think he can be..he's 24 potential is past date now..
That no8 Chelsea shirt he’s holding up is the amount of games he’ll get until the next January transfer window, when he’ll go on loan to Crystal Palace.
Another world class player from the famous Chelsea youth system.....
£15m?Surely they could get a blanket for about a tenner to keep the bench warm?
We still see the words "youngster" and "potential" used all the time with Barkley. He's 24. In football terms he isn't either of those things anymore and needs to start delivering quickly
If Barkley turns out to be 50-75% as good as Frank Lampard then we have a proper player on our hands. Needs to knuckle down and be professional, no more drinking binges and kebabs on a Friday night. This is Chelsea one of the biggest and most professional clubs in world football.
This has the potential to be a great signing for Chelsea. On his day Barkley is a great player, but has he got a great players mentality? I haven't seen it yet. But for 15 million it could be a steal if he gets his head down. He needs to get games though, and I can't see him starting ahead of Hazard, Kante, Willian etc, but for injuries. Will be interesting to see how this pans out.
john is bitter and twisted
A lot of money to pay for an ill disciplined average player but then I suppose that's the going rate for a bench warmer.......
Bargain in the current market for a proven premier league player (assuming he retains fitness & form after his injuries).they have a proven squad player to bring in when rotating the team but i doubt he will ever be 1st choice.Perhaps im wrong but i believe Barkley may have just ended his international hopes as i doubt he will get the 1st team football and match time he needs
