Reading Women 2-5 Manchester City Women

By Tom GarryBBC Sport at Adams Park

Leaders Manchester City maintained their 100% record in Women's Super League One as they scored five times in an entertaining game at Reading.

City debutant Nadia Nadim's header opened the scoring before Scotland's Claire Emslie clipped in a second.

Reading hit back with Remi Allen's tap-in and Brooke Chaplen's fine strike, but Izzy Christiansen tucked the visitors in to a 3-2 half-time lead.

Jill Scott's second-half brace secured City's sixth win from six.

Afghanistan-born Denmark international forward Nadim confidently nodded in her first goal in English football inside six minutes, in a match full of action at both ends of the field.

The two sides could both have scored more, but Jo Potter's second-half free-kick fizzed just wide of the post for Reading, while Nadim's bouncing first-half shot was saved by Mary Earps.

Victory kept City top, two points above second-placed Chelsea - who beat Arsenal 3-2 in another thriller at Kingsmeadow earlier on Sunday.
