Match ends, Hibernian 2, Ross County 1.
Hibernian came from behind to earn a win that sent Ross County to the bottom of the Premiership.
The visitors took the lead at Easter Road when Craig Curran converted Chris Eagles' first-half cross.
Hibs drew level before the break, with Anthony Stokes heading home Dylan McGeouch's fine delivery.
County's Scott Fox made a series of second-half saves but could not prevent Kenny van der Weg diverting Brandon Barker's cross into his own net.
The home side got there in the end, and the victory moved them to within three points of third-placed Rangers.
Hibs started fairly brightly, but it was the visitors who struck the first, decisive blow.
Eagles was afforded far too much space on the left and showed great composure and technique to find Curran, who finished into the corner.
The lead did not last long, though, with Stokes' perfectly redirected header from McGeouch's curling cross hitting the post on its way into the net.
At that stage, a Hibs onslaught looked likely but County stood firm and frustrated the home side, who lacked intensity and ideas until the latter stages.
Stokes did have one clear opportunity before half time, when he race onto McGeouch's wonderful ball in behind, but at the vital moment he lacked composure and fired high over.
The second period offered little for long spells, with the home crowd becoming increasingly restless, until Hibs upped their energy. They were eventually rewarded.
Boyle raced clear but was denied brilliantly by Fox. Stokes then came close with an inspired chip that Fox tipped away.
However, the decisive moment came when Barker raced to the byline, pulled the ball across goal and Van der Weg inadvertently steered past Fox as he tracked the run of teenage striker Oli Shaw.
The Ross County keeper produced another good stop to deny Boyle, but there was no route back for Owen Coyle's side, who are now winless in seven matches.
Hibs manager Neil Lennon: "It's a fantastic day, a great performance from the team. Having gone a goal down as well I thought we played very very well. In the context of where we are in our season it's a fantastic win.
"They showed plenty of character, they didn't drop the heads. Sometimes we can switch off and the opposition can get us with a sucker punch. That wasn't apparent today. They kept going and played some lovely football at times and we got what we deserved.
"We have beaten a good side. As hard as I was on them last week, I'm lavishing praise on them this week. That was an important win."
Ross County manager Owen Coyle: "We went in front with a very good goal. That's one thing we have to learn, defending better when we take the lead. There's a lot of good work gone in there.
"My frustration of course is that you leave with no points. I think we've scored a perfectly good goal at the end that's been been ruled offside. I've seen it back, it certainly looks level.
"We're not standing here talking about our position in May. We're talking about December. When we came in we were a point off the bottom. What we've got to do is turn the fine margins in our favour."
