Match ends, Brentford 0, Barnsley 0.
Barnsley held on to end a run of five Championship defeats with a goalless draw against Brentford.
Both sides had chances to snatch victory in a hard-fought encounter.
Brentford's Yoann Barbet drilled a shot past Adam Davies' post from 25 yards before Tom Bradshaw poked Harvey Barnes' cross just over for the Tykes.
Ollie Watkins almost earned the Bees all three points deep in second-half stoppage time, but his close-range effort was kept out by Davies.
Barnsley's clean sheet was their first in their past 18 Championship away games, a run stretching back to a 2-0 win at Blackburn in April.
But they have scored only once in their past six games and are just four points above the relegation zone.
Brentford, meanwhile, extended their unbeaten league run at Griffin Park to 10 games, although seven of those have ended level.
Brentford boss Dean Smith:
"We had a very good first half, made chances and created opportunities but didn't take them because of poor decision making.
"We need to start turning draws into wins because we're dominating possession and coming out with just a point. We did it against Derby when we had 78% possession, and it happened again today.
"It's difficult when teams come here with the intention of killing games off by whatever means possible, but we have to be better in our decision making and more clinical in the box. We created plenty of chances and could have been two up very early on, but we've taken none of them."
Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Sheffield:
"I thought we got better as the game went on. We tried to stay calm and relaxed early on in the game even though we could see things we needed to improve. It's difficult to get information on the pitch, especially when you see five or six things you want to deal with.
"Brentford are a good side and I like watching them play. I like what they try and do. We knew that they were going to be difficult to play against and we had to accept that challenge.
"I'm pleased we got the point we deserved. In the second half in particular, we were pretty comfortable. We had real good opportunities on the break and spells where we got in behind and could have possibly done better."
