on 1 Dec 2017 13:42Warning to all football fans of ethnic minority background - do not go. I went to Russia on a business trip and even at the airport the prejudice I was subjected to was shocking. The country has a serious issue with racism.

on 1 Dec 2017 13:19The fans are just a load of racist hooligans. Not sure about the Russian ones though.

on 1 Dec 2017 11:40If ever there was a case of an article that make World Cup draw speculation pointless it's this. We could get get the shortest journeys with the toughest teams or the longest and the easiest or anything inbetween - what will be will be. Some look for a positive outcome while others seemingly wanting the players shot at dawn before a ball is kicked - let's just enjoy it while it lasts

on 1 Dec 2017 11:39Sleeper trains are absolutely FREE!! If you have a ticket for any game you can go for free to/from that game from any other host city, even if it’s 3000km away! Not 3rd class either, brand new Kupe 4 berth compartments. Just need your ticket no. and FAN ID. The special trains are just for World Cup ticket holders. Russia wants this tournament to be a success, give them a chance!

The difference with the Euros was that the Russian fans weren't at home.
Putin doesn't want trouble from their hooligans on his own doorstep. I think you'll find the punishments for Russian hooligans will be a lot harsher than for visitors.
I have a sneaky suspicion that this World Cup will actually pass by without any real trouble. -

on 1 Dec 2017 10:27Really handy for the BBC to give a nice clear example of what a 14,000km round trip looks like. London to Angola? Really? Yeah, because we all know what that journey's like.
C'mon, we're not all Kate Adie. -

on 1 Dec 2017 10:05Remember the Euros? Russian military style hooligans which hunted down English fans and brain damaged them. Even Russian MP's said they were proud of them. Good luck going to Russia and your own risk.

on 1 Dec 2017 09:59Worked in Moscow for 9 months. Awesome place, full of culture; locals for the most part are well educated and friendly, plenty of good bars, restaurants and clubs. Of course, not the place to go if you're looking for a drunken brawl with the local "ultras" but other than that, highly recommended.

on 1 Dec 2017 08:21Ingurland fans should all get a 7 day railcard. No point in getting one for any longer.

on 1 Dec 2017 06:4349 -I can see that geography isn't one of your strong subjects. But more important
England better not hope they draw IRAN from the the third pot. Many of the "experts" including those of the BBC have no idea how good Iran are, OK they
have beaten Chile recently Sanchez , Vidal and all who didn't qualify. But just
look at Iran's goals against Montenegro who beat Denmark in Copenhagen.
