Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Hull City

Michael Dawson scored deep into injury time as Hull denied Sheffield Wednesday victory in the Yorkshire derby.

Gary Hooper scored two second-half goals as the Owls thought they had completed a turnaround from 1-0 down.

Fraizer Campbell had struck from close range to put the hosts in front early on before Hooper turned in the box to fire in the equaliser.

The Wednesday striker then drilled in his second before Dawson kneed in to make it 2-2 in the 95th minute.

With Hull having not won in seven games and struggling in the Championship this season in 20th place, their last-gasp equaliser may have saved boss Leonid Slutsky from losing his job.

After losing 3-2 at home to Bristol City last weekend, the Russian said he had considered his future with the Tigers but he will have been pleased to see them take an early lead at Hillsborough thanks to Campbell's curling finish.

The Owls, who are unbeaten in seven but 12th in the table and eight points off the top six, looked to be claiming all three points thanks to a much-improved second-half display.

Adam Reach struck a post for the hosts but it took until the final 20 minutes for the visitors' back line to be breached as referee Mike Jones overruled his assistant to allow Hooper's fierce strike to stand.

And the former Celtic forward then appeared to have scored the winner, with just four minutes remaining, when he finished coolly at the far post.

But with six minutes of added time there was time for one final dramatic moment as Dawson equalised just moments before the final whistle.

Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal:

"I'm very upset, not about my players, because we did everything we had to do, not about myself because I did everything I had to do.

"But there was an unbelievable penalty, the defender acted like a goalkeeper, it is very clear. I am very upset because everything comes to me.

"With these kind of decisions, it's not just about the points. The fans are not happy with the score, we are not happy, the players are frustrated."

Hull manager Leonid Slutsky:

"I don't know about my future. Each match is very important for me, and it is very difficult for me to think about the future.

"We deserved a draw and deserved it for previous games because we have been unlucky and conceded late goals.

"I try to analyse the game and now I understand our problem because when we score a goal we stop trying to play and keep the lead and this is not our strength. We don't have a big forward and have the possibility to keep the ball."
