Middlesbrough midfielder Lewis Wing has signed a contract extension to stay with the Championship club until 2019.

Wing, 22, joined Boro from Northern League Division One side Shildon ahead of this season and has made two EFL Cup appearances for Garry Monk's side.

"It's been fantastic for me being involved with the first team," he told the club website.

"I'm just focusing on continuing to improve because it's been a great year for me so far."
