Match ends, Cheltenham Town 2, Maidstone United 4.
National League side Maidstone pulled off a shock in the FA Cup first round with a convincing victory at League Two Cheltenham.
Delano Sam-Yorke headed the visitors in front, Joe Pigott added a second from close range a minute later and Zavon Hines struck to make it 3-0.
Kevin Dawson's header reduced the deficit before Sam-Yorke struck again and Alex Finney's own goal made it 4-2.
Dawson and Sam-Yorke both received straight red cards for fouls.
After Sam-Yorke had put them in front, a giant-killing by Maidstone never looked in doubt as they raced to a 3-0 lead at the break.
But, having scored his second and United's fourth of the afternoon, the striker was sent off soon after for a foul on Mohamed Eisa.
A rebounded shot then struck Finney before falling into the net to reduce the deficit but Cheltenham's hopes of a comeback with a one-man advantage were soon dashed when Dawson was sent off for a lunge at Lee Worgan.
Cheltenham manager Gary Johnson told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"I know the lads don't go out there purposely not to try.
"It was just very, very poor defending, and we couldn't score on our chances.
"Three-nil down at half-time is a mountain to come back, but funnily enough we had enough chances to get it back.
"We didn't have the quality to stick the ball in the net when we needed to."
Maidstone manager Jay Saunders told BBC Radio Kent:
"I thought all over the park we were excellent today and even when we went down to 10 men we dug deep.
"That's what you've got to do and to come away from home anywhere and score four goals is great.
"To do it at a League Two club speaks volumes about the performance the boys put in."
