JD Welsh Premier League

Saturday 7 October

Aberystwyth 0-0 Barry Town: The visitors ended a good week undefeated while Aberystwyth took a point to lift them off the bottom of the table. Barry Town had won at Bangor City in the league before beating Afan Lido 4-2 in the Nathaniel MG Cup on Tuesday. For Aberystwyth, this was a third draw to add to five defeats.

Bala Town 0-1 Bangor City: James Demetriou struck late on as Bangor City bounced back from defeat by Barry Town to go top, while Bala's disappointing recent form continued as they suffered a fourth consecutive defeat.

Cefn Druids 0-0 Newtown: Both teams went into this encounter confident but neither could break the deadlock. In their previous two games the hosts won at home against Bala and at Llandudno. Meanwhile, Newtown went to Cefn Mawr having reached the last eight of the Nathaniel MG Cup in midweek against Hollywell Town.

Prestatyn Town 3-2 Carmarthen Town: Prestatyn Town bounced back from defeat at Cardiff Met as they compounded Carmarthen Town's misery, as the visitors dropped below Aberystwyth to go bottom of the table. Liam Thomas opened the scoring for the visitors and after Jack Lewis' reply Liam Griffiths put Camarthen back in front. But Jack Higgins levelled for Prestatyn and Jack Kenny struck in the 90th minute to secure a home win.

Sunday 8 October

Cardiff Metropolitan v Llandudno (14:30): The Students remained unbeaten at home this campaign after Chris Baker hit home on the hour to condemn early pace-setters Llandudno to a third successive defeat.

Tuesday 10 October

Connah's Quay Nomads 2-2 The New Saints: Greg Draper's brace for The New Saints was not enough to seal victory in this much-anticipated encounter. Draper put the visitors ahead twice only for James Owen and Callum Morris, from the penalty spot, to hit back.

Nomads stayed third in the table while Saints remained one behind leaders Bangor City.
