Gary Bowyer: Blackpool boss says EFL must consider fans in fixture list
Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer says the EFL must take fans into consideration when arranging the fixture list after their victory at Plymouth.
Just over 100 Blackpool fans made the 640-mile round trip south to Home Park to see them win 3-1 on Tuesday.
The victory was their fourth in League One and moved them up to fifth.
"We're delighted to win, especially for the supporters. I was told 115 fans travelled but it sounded like more," Bowyer told BBC Radio Lancashire.
It is the second time in as many seasons that Blackpool have faced Plymouth away in a midweek game, with the last fixture resulting in a 3-0 win for the Tangerines in March.
"To come to Plymouth on a Tuesday night again, which they did last season, is a magnificent effort for them and that went into the team talk," Bowyer continued.
"The EFL have got to have a little look at how they organise the fixtures. They have to take into consideration the football supporters.
"It's not like us, we can sit on a bus and get fed well and we checked in to a nice hotel. Morecambe were also at Yeovil and Wigan were away at Charlton. Come on, work it out."
