The E in EPL is apparently "English"...some moosh is 'avin a bubble innit. Surely it should be M for Mongrel or Moby ?
@215 Fair enough, I get BT because of the Rugby, though the last Sky quote was was something like £118 per month for their whole package. Sports and broadband included. I live in NI and dont think anyone here pays so little. Surely cant be a regional thing can it?. How long are you paying only the £20? Sounds like you have been lured in and will soon have a bill for £100 plus.
Disappointing results again in Europe for Scottish teams - agree with the comments re adjusting the league set up. Something needs to change. I think extend the league (18 - 20 teams), and play each other twice (34 / 38 games) and do away with the ridiculous split. If teams play the old firm only once away from home they will hopefully have more of a go at them and in time could break monopoly...
Maybe its time that the Board at Aberdeen decided what they want they have raked in more than £2 from the sale of Jonny Hayes and the two sell out crowds for the home European ties . They have only invested £150,000 in the squad in permanent signings the rest are loan moves . to succeed in Europe nowadays you need to invest seriously in your squad its now make up your mind time !!
@214....Actually it is ;)Contact SKY if you use themThe sports package in full is £27.50, they are offering a discount currently so you get it for £20.....Broadband / BT / Premier is separate to SKY obviously which you can pay separately if you choose, or go with BT and get it for free...So yes £20 a month for live Sports coverage of all sports, all over the world, is pretty decent
@213 Economics is not your fortay either, clearly.£20 for Sky maybe...Then there's broadband..then there's BT and Premier sports...If you get all that for £20 per month then credit to your genius. Your mere £20? Are you the only one that pays then? Pretty sure there is millions of 'mere 20s'.
@210 Nonsense, i get the full Sky Sports package for £20 a month on my current deal.Thats to watch football all over the world, its actually quite cheap. My mere £20 a month isnt the reason Man City paid £50 million for an average right back.Economics is not your fortay sir
Laugh all you want englanders now your women's football team bragging and then get royaly pumped 3-0.
Scottish football. RIP.
If the people of WAL/SCO/NI stopped paying these silly prices to the sports companies, then the EPL would not be drowning in over priced prima-donna's.Thats right, Slate us all you want, but we pay for your clubs to buy success.
On Wednesday Ajax were dumped out of Europe and yesterday it was PSV Eindhoven. It's not just Scottish clubs that are struggling. The game has levelled out in Europe for the smaller nations and the larger countries with the mega TV deals have moved into a different stratosphere.Aberdeen were off the pace, especially the first half. The Cypriots weren't great either, that's the disappointment.
Re 206 Good point. In the past players like Kenny Dalglish learned their trade by being farmed out to junior clubs, Cumbernauld United in his case. They had to play against older guys who were as tough as old boots and, as a result, had to learn fast to survive.
They can concentrate on coming a distant second in the league now without European distraction.
The main problem with Scottish AND English football are the clowns who thought it was a good idea to introduce Under17, U18, U19 etc.. football. Can anyone tell me any other profession where you learn your trade from someone else who is learning their trade from you. It's madness. Get back to proper reserve football with experienced pro's bringing the talent through.
All the English trolls slating the SPL. Look at the size compared to EPL, Look at the budget compared to EPL. The amount of money in Eng, coupled with the amount of talent the media keep telling us you have, should'nt you be winning every tournament and CL? Instead your National team is rubbish, your players stay in Eng as its only you lot that think they are any good. Deluded and arrogant.
@203 Wow i know.....imagine not getting 3 automatic sports in the group stages.Having to play euro qualifiers in June is beyond stupid, cant really blame clubs for going out early.Players are on holiday, new signings are not integrated or arrived yet, players have left, squads are a mess.Summer football is what is required.
Scottish football.....Can the last person out turn the lights off please
Gutted for Aberdeen, would have been great if they could of made the groups.
Yes Aberdeen were poor yesterday but they were playing in very hot conditions. The team from Cyprus only had 1 Cypriot in it, it was all Argies, Brazilians and Croats.
