Well done Huddesfield and deserved it over the two legs. Fulham should have gone through as they were better than Reading and were undone by dubious penalty in my view. Entertaining stuff though - would like to see Huddesfield in the PL.
Well done Huddersfield Town, best of luck in the Play-off Final at Wembley. You truly deserve it for the wonderful season you've had. My first ever football match was at Roker Park at the beginning of the 1960's, watching Sunderland vs Huddersfield Town in the old 2nd Division. I was looking forward to coming to your stadium next season, but hey, if you get promoted I certainly won't mind.
Huddersfield who won three back to back league division one titles. But like all records before 1992 that dont countLiverpool have never been english championsHoward wilkinson wasnt the last englishman to win the top flightAnd england never lifted the world cupWe all know it did happen but according to sky it is they who invented football in 92
@158Huddersfield?The club who three back to back football league division one titles. Though because football didnt begin until 1992, when sky invented it, that dont count
49. Posted by Stewart "The 3rd place side, Reading, deserves to go up"What nonsense is this? Huddersfield were third and actually chasing down second place but after a few hiccups and then the guaranteed play off position they took their foot off the pedal and rotated the squad otherwise they would have easily been third.
@157Bournemouth seem to be doing well. They had never been in the top flight before. And now have survived admirably.
If Huddersfield do beat Reading to get into the Premiership they'll be back in the Championship after being the whipping boys for.Arsenal,Chelsea,Man United,Man City,Spurs and Liverpool.Even West Brom,Everton,West Ham and Stoke will probably beat them home and away. That's 60 points down the pan before they have even kicked a ball in the Premiership.
I'm an avid owl, but the best team won. Simple as that
As a Leeds fan, I'd like to say well done to the terriers. And good luck in the final!
I've really enjoyed the championship this year and the play-offs haven't disappointed either. I do think Fulham and Sheffield Wednesday will feel they could have done better though.
Shouldn't Reading be playing Hull City in an ideal playoff? No one could dispute either Newcastle or Brighton going up automatically this season. Leeds seemed favourites for the playoffs then Fulham. A lot of credit to Huddersfield who were expected to be as bad as Wigan and Rotherham yet they played like Brighton did last season.Whoever wins will need to sign some PL players quickly!
Hopefully Reading will win at Wembley! 😀
Thank you to the many who have offered their congratulations and best wishes to the Town, it does you and this website great credit. The third-placed team deserves to go up, does it? That's as may be, but does anyone really believe that if three places only had been up for grabs that the table would have finished exactly as it did? Oh and the ball was definitely out at Cardiff in 2004.
