It is high time the players started to take some of the blame for the situation at Sunderland. A few years ago they undermined Paulo Di Canio and the Sunderland board sided with them;setting a dangerous precedent. Sacking David Moyes will not deal with the fact that the club have bad players on the pitch and bad leadership off it. No manager with any sanity would want to join Sunderland now.
Moyes win rate(52.94%) for Man U was better than all Man U managers since 1945 except Ferguson (59%) and Mourhino (56%). This stat includes Matt Busby!!!This despite being let down by Woodward only signing Mata initiallyFerguson was given time at the start and Mouriniho has the benifit of spending hundreds of millions. Moyes was hammered for not playing the United way now they park the bus
Why do rival fans defend Moyes' time at United? People who actually follow and care about the club could see the damage he was doing, it was like Hodgson at Liverpool except DM inherited a much better squad. Will never forget Moyes telling Vidic to learn from Jagielka, or him saying United need to aspire to be like City. Mourinho is at least making United hard to beat.
Why is everyone against moyes it's the primadonnas of the players not one them playing for the shirt sack them all
With hindsight I think Utd got rid of Moyes too quickly. They screwed up the summer window so he was stuck with what proved to be a load of over the top players. Van Gaal, who was given all the money he wanted, was only marginally better. United would have at least saved themselves a year's payoff if they'd given him another season.
Vacancies at McDonalds.
If I was the Sunderland owner I would sack Moyes and see if Frank Lampard could be tempted away from London to run the club. Moyes has done nothing since leaving Everton apart from collecting severance payments from the clubs he has managed. Moyes is not an inspirational manager, his attitude at the start of the season gave the players the gift to get relegated.
Perhaps he was lucky at Everton , benefited from their youth system - He is certainly not in the same league as Hughes ,Pullis or Allardyce , who have manager a number of clubs with reasonable success - Championship beckons ??
He needs to go out to pasture. Long past his sell by date and devoid of the inspirational skills needed to motivate players. Has been a total disaster at SAFC and has no hope of getting SAFC back to the premiership.
He does seem to make very poor decisions when the focus is on him. Anyone with an ounce of sense would have kept Ferguson's coaching staff at man utd for at least 1 season. Also the quality of sunderland's squad is not dissimilar to middlesbrough's, hull's or swansea's, I didn't hear any of their managers publicly admit that they might be relegated. He should stay for another season though.
David Moyes only has himself to blame his last three jobs have all been wrong place wrong time jobs. He was always doomed to fail at Utd the spanish venture was suicide and SFC should have been relegated for the last five years only the skill of Big Sam could have kept them up last year, Funnily enough I think he is now in the right job he can bring SFC back to the PL if given the chance.
Mark1996You are just like most of the others on here, totally obsessed with the money he earns. Also, I think you will find that he is not sexist, it was just an ill advised attempt at humour which went wrong, and was picked up by a bandwagon of "do-gooders" who want to be offended. The lady in question wasn't, good on her. As for legacy, did a great job at Everton, not been bettered since.
@321Overachieving at Everton!!! Ha ha, he never one a trophy in 11 years, and his record against the traditional top 4 was awful. Everton never won against Utd during his reign there, a record they quickly corrected when Moyes became the boss man in Manchester! Overachieved!!!!
I'm sure he can rebuild Sunderland, just as he did at Preston & Everton. As a Bristol City fan he'll get a good reception at Ashton Gate next season.
Moyes negativity has always been there for all to see. When appointed manager of the biggest club in the World he complained about the fixture list being stacked against them. Says it all, poor manager, out of his depth.
Is the problem that he is:Sexist? Bigoted? Or just simply an old school, outmoded dinosaur? He has created no legacy with any of the clubs that he has managed yet he can now put his feet up with millions in the bank. The game is sick.
I knew Moyes had made a bad mistake joining Sunderland. Big Sam was their last chance, but he would have needed an injection of quality in the squad to keep them up. Morale went to rock bottom when he left and Moyes had little pre-season. A number of the players have polluted the EPL long enough. I wish the clubs excellent fans well. Anyone would be depressed following so many inept players.
