NOOoooo!!!!!!Rooney headlines;now a VOTE!!!!Neville's thoughts;MU top in Chinese online searches;what might he expect in China;his best goals...........................
At first, I assumed this article was tongue in cheek then returned to the forum to find that people were taking it seriously! Next, I urged everyone to leave it alone because it was too grotesque and beyond satire; but still, at 5.15pm it rolls merrily on...Do some people really CARE what happens to this man and his family???Whether his wages are sufficient???What???STOP!STOP NOW!
If you go Wayne, when you return bring some Chinese food, it's the best!Is China the new SPL or MLS where players go to die!
Not sure what WR has done to attract the venomous comments he receives on here, cowards, all of you. Its not his fault he is not a Messi or Ronaldo, neither is it his fault our national game doesn't develop players of true world class. He's the best we've had by a mile, his attitude and committment has been first class. Yes, he earns good money, get over it you sad lotFrom a LFC fan
I'd be surprised if Rooney did go to China, unless there was something else besides money, e.g. experience of a lifetime for his kids to learn Mandarin language, (which we will all have to learn in the next quarter century, unless Trump gets his way). Whilst he still enjoys playing, Wayne will want to stay at he top level as long as possible, on £300k a week its the life of Riley... sorry Rooney!
"42. Posted by Fencesitter onAs I see it, the salient points are:Is he greedy? He's given more to charity than we will earn in a lifetime"In relation to his grossly obscene salary, it's probably the same as us spending £1 on the lottery, so no he doesn't.
231. Posted by Jay74It's now 8 stories on Manure and rising - some meaningless thing about fans in China
Doesn't the experience of MLS in the USA show that you can't build a great soccer system on the back of clapped-out has-beens prolonging their retirement?
246. Wayne Rooney is a good player, no doubt about it, but the reason he is the all time top scorer is simply longevity. He has been outgunned by Ronaldo, Van Nistelrooy, Van Persie and now Ibrahimovic, and he is certainly not as good as his wages would imply and definitely not a shoo-in to play in the first team. He has just done enough throughout his career but nothing really exceptional.
Hope he goes. As a neutral I'm always baffled that Rooney, although undoubtedly a great in his own right, gets far more attention than the truly inspiring great players in the PL like Aguero.
I could have predicted Rooneys career would come to an end at old trafford when Mourinho was appointed. if/when united finish 6th and win no trophy, this rooney saga will bite mourinho in the face. As an Arsenal fan i can't wait to see this develop. only 31 yrs old ,300k a week salary, Eng n United captain and all time leading scorer. I'm sure rooney would play leftback if asked! #MourinhoOut lol
Yesterday, I wrote that 3 articles on Rooney that were on BBC at the time were just not enough and asking for at least 2 more Shrek articles, plus some more on Maureen, updates on the tea lady and the kitman. My wish has been fulfilled. Just the 5 Rooney articles on BBC Sport at the moment. Plus Simon Stone has written today's Man Utd article. Thank you as don't feel you talk about them enough!!
How much money does anyone need. If Wayne does end up in China then it will confirm he has had a career as a mercenary. He is already the highest paid player in England, but nowhere near the best, so he has clearly spent more time negotiating contracts than improving his play. I wonder if he will have the brass neck to do this and prove me right.
He's had a great career, winning everything he could for club; record scorer for club and country, scored in big matches (CL finals, derbies etc.) but he never really recovered from that ankle injury vs Bayern in 2010 and Capello's daft decision to take him to the WC when obviously not fit. He lost that explosive pace and since then his body has slowly let him down. Semi-retirement beckons now.
He does not need the money, his family are very young and settled here, the standard of life in China would be lower generally, the football easier and the smog a major issue. On that basis alone why would you go there unless it was about greed?
Wayne Wooney.. you for coffee?
