Experienced defender Alan Dunne has left League Two side Leyton Orient by mutual consent.

The 34-year-old has not started a league game for the O's this season and last featured as a substitute in the 1-0 home defeat by Exeter in November.

Irishman Dunne joined Orient in the summer of 2015 after spending 15 years with Millwall and featured a total of 18 times for the east London club.

The right-back had six months remaining on his deal at the Matchroom Stadium.

"We wish him success in his future endeavours," a club statement said.

Dunne is the latest senior player to leave Orient, who are 20th in the table, two points above the relegation zone.

Striker Jay Simpson has left for American side Philadelphia Union while Jordan Bowery has joined Crewe on loan.

Meanwhile, Harry Cornick has returned to parent club Bournemouth after his loan spell with the O's ended.
