National League South side Truro City have signed former Eastleigh manager Chris Todd as a player-coach.

The 35-year-old has agreed a short-term deal, having been sacked as player-boss by Eastleigh in August.

The central defender had been training with former club Torquay United after leaving the Silverlake Stadium.

"I'm looking for a little bit of experience, it'll only be a short deal as he'll want to go on and manage somewhere else," said boss Lee Hodges.

"I played with Toddy at Torquay when we got promoted from the Conference, I've worked with him and he's a winner," he told BBC Sport.

Meanwhile, Eastleigh centre-back Jack Smith has rejoined Truro on loan, after he returned to his parent club last week to cover for injuries.
