Truro City manager Lee Hodges says his side showed him their true quality as they came from behind to win 2-1 at Wealdstone in National League South.
Former Torquay striker Elliot Benyon gave the home side a 19th-minute lead, but Niall Thompson and Andrew Neal scored in the last 20 minutes for City.
The win followed a 4-0 FA Cup loss at lower-league Winchester City last week.
"I'm pleased for the boys because they came out and they proved that they are a good team," Hodges told BBC Cornwall.
"They've answered me in the best way. I made changes and tweaked the formation and one or two people on the bench were really disappointed that they weren't starting."
He added: "Neal has been on the bench and responded in the manner that I'm looking for my players to respond.
"He's come on and he's got me a winner, so it's fantastic for him, fantastic for the club, and for the boys for all their hard work that they've put in."
