National League side Tranmere Rovers have sacked Gary Brabin as manager after 16 months in charge.
Rovers are currently fifth in the table, four points behind leaders Dagenham & Redbridge, but have lost three of their past four league games.
Brabin, 45, took charge at Prenton Park in May 2015 after Tranmere were relegated from League Two.
The club missed out on the National League play-offs last season after finishing sixth.
"We have agreed it is best to allow someone else to take the club to the next stage," chairman Mark Palios told the club's website.
"I would like to thank Gary for his hard work and contribution in building a strong squad of players and getting us back fighting for promotion places."
Rovers are yet to announce who will take charge of the side following Brabin's departure.
