Robbie Keane says he told his Republic of Ireland team-mates never to underestimate the privilege of playing for their country after he rounded off his international career with a goal in the 4-0 win over Oman.
Keane made an emotional farewell to Republic fans at the Aviva Stadium as he netted his 68th goal on his 146th and final international appearance.
"It's the best feeling in the world and that's what I just mentioned to the players, 'Never underestimate that'. I don't think those players will," said the 36-year-old LA Galaxy striker.
