Match ends, Dundalk 3, BATE Borisov 0.

Dundalk are one round away from being the first League of Ireland club to reach the Champions League group stages after a shock win over BATE Borisov.
Two David McMillan goals and an injury-time Robbie Benson strike earned the Irish champions a 3-0 home-leg victory at Tallaght Stadium.
That ensured a 3-1 aggregate success over their Belarusian counterparts.
It also guaranteed Stephen Kenny's Dundalk at least a place in the Europa League group stages.
Dundalk secure £5.9m European windfall
Dundalk were already guaranteed £1m after progressing to the Champions League third qualifying round but that sum has now increased to around £5.9m.
The draw for the final Champions League qualifying round will take place in Monaco on Friday, and Dundalk could meet Celtic after the Scottish champions progressed against Astana of Kazakhstan.
Other potential opponents are Viktoria Plzen, Apoel Nicosia, Legia Warsaw and Red Bull Salzburg.
Dundalk's victory on Tuesday avenged last year's 2-1 aggregate defeat by the Belarusians in the Champions League second qualifying round.

The League of Ireland champions secured their remarkable win despite having to move their home leg from Oriel Park to Tallaght Stadium in Dublin because of Uefa ground capacity rules.
Those rules state that Champions League matches from the third qualifying round onwards must take place at venues with a minimum of 4,500 seats. Oriel Park has only 3,000 seats in its 4,500 capacity. Around 5,000 supporters were at Tuesday's match.
BATE, regular qualifiers for the Champions League group stages, were left to rue missed first-half chances as Yuri Kendysh headed over and Aleksei Rios shot wide when well placed in the 16th minute.
Against the run of play, Dundalk took the lead on the stroke of half-time as Daryl Horgan's cross picked out McMillan, who guided a header past Sergei Veremko.
Dundalk had an escape in the 56th minute as Rios shot wide, but three minutes later the Irish side were ahead in the tie as McMillan nodded a Dane Massey cross into the net.
After repelling some BATE pressure, Dundalk made the tie safe in the first minute of injury-time as substitute Benson broke clear and slotted past Veremko.

"Imagine the farce if they got in while Man Utd were not in. Saddens me to see how inept the governing bodies are these days"
So Man United need a governing body to qualify? Is this the ManU who are able to spend £100 million on a player?
ManU supporters would support the underdog, in fact most football supporters would. Imagine if the got through to play Real Madrid, fantastic!
Why are you reading about an Republic of Ireland team ? If it troubles you that much.
Ps well done Dundalk !
what a nice football story
it would be an even better football story if they could make it to the group stage
good luck who ever you draw
This is what football is (or used to be anyway) about
An unexpected cup run with a few well needed quid too
Very well done and good luck in qualifying
"Why are we having a HYS about a Republic of Ireland team on a British website?"
Because of the demand to diversify and not have "every" HYS about Utd. You can bet your bottom dollar though that Utd will get mentioned by plenty. They always find a way, given their obsession!
Great achievement, though, and outrageous that 'ThePundit' cannot see past those narrow-minded & elitest blinkers - presume you want Leicester banned as well?
Erhh, at least everybody in Ireland..?
Well done Dundalk and well done those who love a good football story.
Hopefully the next round home game is played at the Aviva. It's already built and they will come. Trust me on that one
The BBC has an Irish Football page that deals with the Irish League, which is within their jurisdiction. Under Teams/International they have a page for the ROI, which is actually beyond their brief but magnanimous of them. They also often feature big stories on the main football page (like this one).
There's a thing called the internet..................learn how to use it!!
'who outside of Scotland has heard of dundalk? '
People in Ireland, where dundalk is.
