New contracts for Rangers management duo

Rangers manager Mark Warburton has signed a contract extension that commits him to Ibrox until the summer of 2019.

Warburton and assistant David Weir have signed "significantly improved" three-year deals which replace their current deals, which had two years left to run.

"It really is a huge honour and privilege to be manager of Rangers Football Club and I am thrilled to agree a new contract," said the former Brentford boss.

'Two more would be perfect' for Warburton

The Rangers boss aims to complete his squad plans early and bring the number of summer additions up to 10.

"We are looking at two more now, whether they are permanent or loans is to still be decided, we would hope permanent," he said.

"I am delighted with what we've got so far and we lost eight players don't forget so we will replace those quickly and I think we'll be in a good place."

Caley Thistle strengthen squad

Inverness CT have signed former Aberdeen and Cardiff full-back Kevin McNaughton and taken winger Billy King on loan from Hearts.

McNaughton, 33, has agreed a one-year deal, while King, 22, has joined up for the season.
