McHugh checks in at Fir Park

Motherwell have signed Irish midfielder Carl McHugh from Plymouth Argyle.

The 23-year-old has agreed a two year contract with the Fir Park club, having previously had spells with Reading and Bradford.

The move seems to have angered Plymouth, with the League Two club releasing a statement criticising the player for leaving the club having previously indicated he would remain with Derek Adams' side.

Brophy and Docherty commit to Accies

Hamilton Accies striker Eamonn Brophy has extended his contract at New Douglas Park until May 2017, with midfielder Greg Docherty committing himself to the club until May 2018.

Dagnall heads for Crewe

Chris Dagnall, who finished the season on loan at Hibs, has signed for Crewe Alexandra.

The striker failed to score in 15 appearances for the Easter Road club.

No pressure to sell Cummings says Lennon

Neil Lennon hopes Jason Cummings is on the verge of signing a new Hibernian contract despite Rotherham United making contact about the striker.

The 20-year-old's current deal ends next summer and Lennon has made an extension his priority after taking over as manager.

"I'm hoping to get the negotiations finished off quick," said Lennon.

"We're under no pressure to sell him, so I'm not worried about any rumours at all."
