The Jersey FA has delayed a decision on whether to send a men's team to the 2017 Island Games in Gotland due to "uncertainty regarding costs".
They have pledged to send a women's side but do not know if a men's side will compete on the Swedish island.
"We've been discussing the potential costs with the Island Games Committee," said Jersey FA CEO Neville Davidson.
"We'll have more information once the IGC has returned from their visit to Gotland next week."
Jersey are currently without a manager after former Aston Villa boss Brian Little stepped down to concentrate on his role at Villa Park.
"I can assure all players that we are working hard and will be in a position soon to discuss the plans and most importantly the cost implications to each person," Davidson added.
