Carlisle missed the chance to climb into the League Two play-off places as they were held to a goalless draw at Barnet.
The hosts had the better of a quiet first half, with Gavin Hoyte volleying over when unmarked and Shaun Batt scuffing wide.
At the other end, Jason Kennedy was narrowly wide with a 25-yard volley.
Hallam Hope's low strike was saved by Bees keeper Jamie Stephens as United stayed a point outside the play-offs.
Barnet manager Martin Allen told BBC Radio London:
"We had about four good chances in the first half where we perhaps should have scored.
"It was difficult to get our team up the pitch to play higher up, because it was difficult with our forward players. They're not quite at full fitness.
"Of course there's bits to work on and improve. But what I would say is in the past perhaps numerous times where you play those games, you lose one-nil off a sneaky counter attack.
"But, in the second half I don't actually think they had a chance at our goal."
