Oxford United midfielder Kemar Roofe felt strength in his "all-round game" was behind his return to the scoresheet in his side's late win at Notts County.

The U's scored twice in added time at Meadow Lane as they came from behind to beat the Magpies 4-2 on Saturday.

Roofe, 22, netted the fourth of the game, his 13th of the season in all competitions but a first in five games.

"Everyone expects me to score every game. It's obviously not going to happen," he told BBC Radio Oxford.

"I believe my all-round game's been good lately," he added. "Thankfully, others have been in the goals recently, which is what it's all about."

Oxford's victory kept them in the League Two automatic promotion places, four points ahead of chasing Portsmouth, who they meet later this month.

Michael Appleton's side's next challenge is an FA Cup third-round home tie against Premier League Swansea City.

"Every game is massive," said Roofe. "Other teams around us are winning as well, so we have to keep going."
