Crewe Alexandra striker Marcus Haber says the arrival of veteran forward Ryan Lowe has added a new dimension to the League One strugglers' game.

Canada international Haber believes the know-how of 37-year-old Lowe has made a big difference.

"It's not so much about quality, it's experience - you know the clever tricks and the ways to play properly and we lack that sometimes," Haber, 26, said.

"We play good football, but having that balance is really going to help us"

Lowe re-signed for the Alex last month on loan from Bury until early January and scored the winner in his first game back against Colchester.

And Haber told BBC Radio Stoke that having a partner like Lowe up front has helped his own game.

"It's tough playing on your own and we've played off each other and been able to link up and I think that's something we've been missing this season," Haber continued.

"We have a good understanding and he makes my life a lot easier - his work rate is phenomenal.

"He takes a bit of the pressure off me and we complement each other nicely."

The Railwaymen, who go to Doncaster on Saturday, have won their last two matches in League One to move off the bottom of the table.
