Jon Parkin's brace ensured Forest Green remained second in the National League after a feisty victory over Altrincham which saw three players sent off.
Parkin's struck the opener from a tight angle and the striker headed in a second to make it 2-0.
The home side's Dale Bennett was sent off before half-time after reacting angrily to a Simon Richman challenge.
However, Altrincham had Josh O'Keefe and Gianluca Havern sent off in the second half and Rovers held on to win.
Forest Green boss Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"Brilliant - very good performance, even though we went down to ten men it was good and the first half especially we were right on it.
"I've spoken to the referee (about the red card) and I'll deal with it internally - apparently Dale Bennett reacted from the kick and kicked back. He's apologised and so we just have to move on.
"There was some very good football being played in awful conditions, there were some very good individual performances and I was very pleased."
