@740, spot on. I remember favouring AvB & LvG coach-sports director combo (just before AvB joined Spurs!), pre-Rodgers. I was puzzled but openminded by Rodgers' appointment & gave him a chance, as we needed fresh ideas after 3 stale seasons via Rafa-Roy-Kenny.Anyhow, Rodgers nearly worked out, but the last 15 months revealed him as short in character when we've needed a strong personality...
@745 Pain ? this isn't good . It was serious, I simply wanted to hear of your management experience...no offence intended. Anyway..McLaren ye fair comment..I cant imagine Ashley interviewing the guy and then actually employing him. You take care now ...goodnight.
726 mattRodgers was the new shankly. He thought reading shankly's wiki page made him untouchable, & yes, Liverpool fans hero worshipped him for 3 years because of the vast progression he made, defending every signing, saying he 100% made suarez, coutinho and henderson & that he was the best modern manager alive. In fact their opinion only changed @ 18.35 last Sunday & now they deny everything
@ 742 zzzzzzzz I can't believe I had to put myself through the utter pain of reading something so boring and unfunny. It's like you just gave up and listened to all the voices in your head at once! Take your time, put together a post that makes sense and has at least a little bit of humour and come back to me. If you can't stick to being a weirdo troll and leave the humour to the adults
5 years in and fsg have finally appointed a good manager -after hodgson, dalglish and rodgers. crackers to give them all a job and nobody is surprised its been one league cup in there pockets after all that money. fsg badly advised and know nothing about soccer - more insult to injury they sacked and appointed new coaches after listening to rogers BS absolving himself from blame(costing $$$)
The loonie goonies should have got rid of Arseen and gone in for Klopp. Every year listening to them talk up their title chances. No chance! Small club no atmosphere. No ambition. Will never make it to the top. FA cup is a nothing trophy now. That's how they can win it. Tottenham have actually made something of themselves in Europe. I tell email to their faces and they can't take it.CLASSIC
@738 Very angry little man...NHS 24 asap. By the way..which teams do you think you have managed..was Roy Race in the side ? Tell us all about it, sounds interesting.
@ bari gadjiIt's ok your dad will get another job. Don't take it all so personal. Look at Mclaren! He has never achieved anything but thinks he is world class, uses the 'in transition' patter relentlessly and had his teeth done.
@726 Wrong, Most LFC fans were astounded at him becoming manager, many did not want him from the start, some give him a chance and there were those that called everyone who were against his appointment...plastic fans and continued to say he was the man
@737 Senator. You keep talking sense..is this practical on the BBC ?. For me I only hope Rodgers gets another crack at it...fingers crossed its Villa.

@734.by To-the-point Rodgers refused to take any blame for bad results but happily took all the plaudits for the good times. He tested himself at Reading (sacked) Watford and Liverpool. He made LFC a laughing stock (which I admit I enjoyed) and his delusions of greatness prevented him changing formations and tactics, instead he played players in far from their best position to continue his way
Why is this thread still open? Different rules for different blogs?
@734 Just summed yourself up...an interesting study , but find someone to talk to or buy a cat
Unfortunately for Rodgers he just didn't have the ability to match his opinion of himself. It's not his fault because how would he know that until he tested himself! Look at people on here, these guys have never even managed a football team yet know all the answers to every teams problems. The football world is riddled with self important, arrogant people. How else could you cope with the abuse
@ 732 & 726All supporters of all teams are optimistic at the beginning. Some are slightly delusional but there's nothing wrong with dreaming of success and better times ahead. It's not a Liverpool FC only thing where they think the next guy will turn things around. I think only villa fans are natural pessimists :)
@726. matt Liverpool fans always start out optimistic and Brendan was touted as the future of British football management. Klopp is different, he has actually won things. He isn't overawed by big players, I think he will raise LFC.It time Liverpool stopped living in the past, no excuses now. Currently LFC are on par with Spurs. If they are a big club it's time to prove it.
