Irish Premiership: Glenavon 3-0 Coleraine

Glenavon move two points behind Coleraine with a 3-0 win

Glenavon moved up to fifth place in the Premiership with an emphatic 3-0 win over Coleraine at Mourneview Park.

Forward Eoin Bradley squared the ball to Andy Hall, who was left with a simple tap-in after 28 minutes.

Rhys Marshall scored the second against the run of play by heading in at the back post from a Hall corner on 70.

Substitute Andy McGrory made it 3-0 five minutes from time, smashing into the net after Hall, Marshall and Gary Hamilton were involved in the build-up.

Hall flicked the ball on, Marshall crossed, Hamilton used one touch to set the ball up and McGrory found the net.

The impressive Bradley saw an early free-kick saved by Michael Doherty and then Rodney Brown fired over for the Bannsiders.

Hall began the move which set up his goal by dispossessing Howard Beverland as the Lurgan Blues earned reward for their marginal superiority.

Bradley had another chance while Marshall nicked the outside of the post. For Coleraine, James McLaughlin had an effort tipped over by Jonny Tuffey.

After the break, McLaughlin was off-target and Jamie McGonigle curled a shot into the hands of Tuffey.

Marshall and McGrory made the points safe for the home side.
