MK Dons boss Karl Robinson says playing in the Championship makes each match feel like the FA Cup fourth round.
Robinson's side were promoted from League One in May and are fourth in the Championship table with seven points from their opening four matches.
"We are playing the fourth round of the FA Cup every week now," Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio.
"It is not so much the level of the competition, as it is the expectation to reach a level to perform."
If MK Dons win against Birmingham City on Saturday, it will be the best start to a season in the club's short history.
Robinson added: "We know it's going to be a really difficult afternoon. We know how hard it's going to be and we're under no illusions.
"If we're fortunate enough to win then it's five wins, one draw and one defeat (including two League Cup victories), which is amazing and the players deserve the credit."
