Southend United have signed midfielder Stephen McLaughlin from Championship side Nottingham Forest on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
McLaughlin, 25, joined Forest from Derry City in 2013 and spent part of last season on loan with the Shrimpers.
He helped Phil Brown's side win promotion to League One, scoring in the play-off semi final against Stevenage.
"I wanted to establish myself at Forest but it wasn't to be and I'm pleased to be here," he told the club's website.
