Torquay United manager Paul Cox says he is still hoping to add experience before the transfer deadline.
Cox has made 15 signings since taking over at Plainmoor in the summer, but most of the players have been young or have had little experience.
"The squad needs improving, but there's no more money left," Cox said.
"I'm going to have to wheel and deal to bring in that little bit of quality and maybe experience of somebody that's been at this level or above."
Torquay's latest signing was midfielder Simon Heslop, with the 28-year-old former Mansfield player bucking the trend of youngsters that Cox has brought in.
Aside from another player from Cox's former club, Exodus Geohaghon, the vast majority of Cox's signings have been under 24.
"Heslop's experience has really shone on one or two," Cox told BBC Radio Devon. "You've got the big man at the back in Exodus, but apart from that we're a team of kids and they need a little bit of help."
