Truro City manager Steve Tully says "small margins" are stopping the club from being more successful.
The White Tigers lost 1-0 to Bishop's Stortford in National League South on Saturday and have won just one of their opening five fixtures since gaining promotion last season.
"There's small margins and those small margins get bigger and bigger," Tully told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"They took their chances and we didn't create enough chances to score."
Truro face unbeaten Gosport Borough on Saturday before taking on Oxford City on Bank Holiday Monday.
"We'll get to the bottom of it and we've got another week to get ready to go for the Bank Holiday weekend," Tully added..
"But when you're conceding goals and not scoring them, it makes it very hard to win games.
"It's not just the forwards that aren't scoring goals, it's a collective thing and it's the same at keeping clean sheets."
