Bury 1-1 Oldham Athletic

Oldham remain unbeaten and Bury without a victory as their League One Lancashire derby ended in a draw.

Former Manchester City and Norwich winger Lee Croft volleyed inside the far post for his first goal in 71 Oldham appearances, spread over three spells with Latics.

Tom Pope equalised after half-time when he tapped in off the post.

Oldham almost won it but Bury keeper Rob Lainton made a good save to deny Latics substitute Simonas Stankevicius.

Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:

"I thought there was a lot of gusto and there was a lot of spirit shown.

"I didn't think the game had enough quality and derbies sometimes do that. That's where you win derby games - if you can have more composure.

"The hard work was there, the thrust was there and the energy was there from both teams. There were a few tackles going in, what you'd expect from a derby, but I think it was a game of not much quality."

Oldham manager Darren Kelly told BBC Radio Manchester:

"We'd some very clear chances that unfortunately we didn't put away, so I'm disappointed overall that we didn't win.

"You see the quality that they have in attack.

"They've scored endless amount of goals over the last few games, so it was important that we dealt with that.

"We switched off for a second for their goal. We were more productive in the final third but didn't get that end product.
