Match ends, Inverness CT 0, Hamilton Academical 2.
Carlton Morris' second goal in two games and a late Louis Longridge strike earned Hamilton their second win in a week as Inverness woes continued.
Morris ghosted past Ross Draper with ease and confidently tucked his shot into the far corner in the first half.
Dani Lopez had three opportunities prior to that and the home side were made to pay for their profligacy.
And as the home side tried in vain to create, Dougie Imrie released substitute Longridge to score.
Hamilton held on comfortably with John Hughes' side unable to mount any sustained pressure to threaten an equaliser, leaving them without a win all season.
The doubters who had Hamilton as relegation favourites will perhaps review that theory. They capitalised on last weekend's impressive 4-0 win over Dundee United with another three points, at a venue which proved very hard for most sides last season.
Not this term with Inverness amassing just one point from their three home ages thus far.
The home side started with the appearance of a team who had cast away uncertainty in the final third and Lopez fired the first threat with a shot which narrowly arrowed wide from the edge of the box.
Lopez then got his head to a Ross Draper cross, the striker applying power but not the required accuracy as Michael McGovern held low to his right.
And, in a further advance, Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo surged down the right and picked out Lopez but the striker could not beat McGovern from close range when a goal seemed certain.
The hosts paid dearly for not taking one of those chances.
Grant Gillespie fired a warning from long range that flashed past Owain Fon William's left-hand post.
Inverness then tried to play out from the back, lost possession and were punished.
Ali Crawford threaded a neat ball to Morris, who easily skipped past Draper to confront Fon Williams and the forward made no mistake.
Gramoz Kurtaj should have extended that lead when he shot from close range, Fon Williams saving and Crawford unable to scramble the ball home.
As the game wore on, chances became a rarity with Hamilton holding their lead comfortably and little real pressure from Inverness.
Lopez tried to find the far corner with a curling effort but it was comfortable for McGovern. Lewis Horner had a long-range effort which the keeper dealt with easily.
When it seemed Hamilton would hold on, they guaranteed the win on the counter when Imrie sent Longridge into the box to fire past Fon Williams.
The expected onslaught from the home side never really materialised as Martin Canning's men eased to a valuable away win.
