Forest Green secured back-to-back victories in their opening games as they beat Welling at The New Lawn.
The visitors' best chance came through Zach Fagan, but Rovers keeper Jonny Maxted made a good save.
Rovers' Jon Parkin was twice blocked before Aaron O'Connor's volley into the roof of the net put the home side ahead at the break.
The second half had little to offer and Wings keeper Tom King saved Elliott Frear's shot to stop the lead doubling.
