Fleetwood have agreed a new one-year deal with their longest-serving player Nathan Pond.
The 30-year-old defender joined in 2003 when they were playing in North West Counties League First Division and has seen six promotions since then.
Pond scored once in his 29 appearances for the Cod Army last season.
"The reason we wanted him to stay was because we believe he's a very good centre-half," said manager Graham Alexander.
"He's got a fantastic reputation around the town and the club and for good reason, but he's a very good professional and we want him to progress next year."
He joined fellow centre-back Stephen Jordan in signing a new deal with the club this week.
