Match ends, Crawley Town 1, Leyton Orient 0.
Crawley moved out of the League One relegation places after beating fellow strugglers Leyton Orient.
Captain Izale McLeod converted a first-half penalty after he was brought down in the area by Luke O'Neill.
Anthony Wordsworth almost doubled the lead shortly before the break but Alex Cisak parried his fierce shot.
Crawley keeper Brian Jensen made good saves to deny Marvin Bartley, ex-Liverpool defender Andrea Dossena, David Mooney and Ryan Hedges.
Crawley's win, coupled with defeats for Crewe and Notts County, move them a point clear of the drop zone.
Orient stay third-from-bottom, three points from safety, but with a superior goal difference to any of their rivals.
Crawley Town boss Dean Saunders told BBC Surrey:
"It was a big win for us, but it also caused a lot of damage and that sort of result for them can damage their morale.
"It's a great result for us nine points in a week, the players have done magnificently. I kept the same team again, so the same eleven players have done it apart from Brian Jensen who came on and plays his part.
"We're not out of trouble yet and on we go to Gillingham and we have to do it again. We are setting out to attack at times and someone has been telling me that we are on course goals-wise.
On the possibility of Richard Wood possibility extending his loan: "He wants to stay and I want him to stay. He's done really well for us, he's been a good character for us and to have around the club.
"Sonny (Bradley), Richard and Darren Ward I thought did really well today because they got bombarded at times, Chris Dagnall and Darius Henderson are as good as any in this league."
Leyton Orient defender Scott Cuthbert told BBC London 94.9:
"It's a massive result in terms of the league positioning and our standings, and it's massively gutting to not have at least a point.
"We started on top but the wind was terrible, it was really hard to get to grips with, but I thought we dominated.
"There was a little lapse in concentration for the penalty and that gives them something to hold onto.
"The frustrating thing is that we had the ball a lot, they sat back and we gave them something to hold onto and they held onto it well, but we're massively disappointed that we didn't test the goalkeeper a few more times.
