Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
The 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international has played 22 games for Rovers since moving to Ewood Park from Everton in September.
He injured himself training on Thursday and last featured in Blackburn's 4-1 FA Cup fifth-round win over Stoke.
"It is devastating news both for the lad and the club," Rovers manager Gary Bowyer told the club website.
"He is an important member of the squad and it will be a big blow for him to miss important league and cup games."
