Roberto Martinez wishes Everton were not Britain's last remaining club in the Europa League but is still looking forward to Friday's last-16 draw.

Everton beat Young Boys 3-1 at Goodison Park on Thursday night to secure a comfortable 7-2 win on aggregate.

"It is a shame there is no more British representation but we're looking forward to the draw," Martinez said.

The Merseysiders are flying the flag after Liverpool, Tottenham and Celtic all exited the competition on Thursday.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku followed up his hat-trick in the 4-1 win in Switzerland with a brace in the return leg after Sekou Sanogo had given Young Boys the lead.

Kevin Mirallas then made it 3-1 in front of the home fans and Martinez added: "We've been supported by huge numbers around Europe."

Liverpool lost on penalties after a 1-0 loss at Besiktas, Spurs went out to Fiorentina after a 2-0 defeat in Italy and Inter Milan accounted for Celtic with 1-0 win at the San Siro.

Defending champions Sevilla made it through after two goals from Spanish midfielder Vitolo helped secure a 3-2 win at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Three-time winners Inter are one of five Italian teams to make it through.

There are no seeded teams in the draw, which will take place in Nyon, Switzerland at 12:00 GMT on Friday.
