Bournemouth captain Tommy Elphick has said his side's recent form is just a blip as they enter the final 14 games.

The Cherries are winless in their last three Championship games but remain third, just three points from the top.

Draws against leaders Derby and Huddersfield were followed by a 3-1 loss to Brentford on Saturday.

"Hopefully we're getting our blip out of the way now and can come back strong against Forest," Elphick told BBC Radio Solent.

"We haven't been at our destructive best - starting games quickly and dominating.

"It's time to learn from the mistakes we've had in the previous three or four games. All of those experiences in the early part of the season has stood us in good stead."

Despite their recent results, Bournemouth will be chasing their 10th away win of the season at the City Ground on Wednesday.

"The away form has been brilliant," continued Elphick. "We've kept a lot of clean sheets which is a great platform.

"We've got a great squad. A lot of players to come off the bench and give us the boost we might need at times."

And the 27-year-old defender is confident that Bournemouth can stay in the upper reaches of the table.

Elphick added: "Something hasn't gone bad overnight. There are still plenty of points to play for.

"If we can be the ones to put a nice winning run together, we're going to be there or thereabouts."
