Aldershot Town have confirmed caretaker boss Chris Barker will be among the candidates interviewed for the vacant manager's position next week.
The 34-year-old defender has been in charge of the Shots since Andy Scott was sacked last month.
"The board are aware of the need to make the right decision for the long-term benefit of the club," said a statement by the Conference side.
Interviews with shortlisted candidates will start on Monday.
The Hampshire side are currently 18th in the Conference table, five points above the relegation zone.
The club statement thanked supporters for their patience since Scott was dismissed, and backed Barker to continue in his role.
"Aldershot's board of directors would like to again express their confidence in, support of and gratitude to Chris in tackling the challenging double role of caretaker manager and player," it said.
