Gillingham 4-2 Milton Keynes Dons

Karl Robinson
Karl Robinson's MK Dons lost on Saturday, as did the other two sides in the top three in League One

Gillingham continued their fine form with a fifth league win in six games against promotion-chasing MK Dons.

Bradley Garmston's low shot and a confident finish from John Marquis in the last 15 minutes sealed the game.

Cody McDonald had fired the home side ahead, but Devante Cole levelled from inside the box for the Dons.

Bradley Dack smashed in to restore Gillingham's lead and McDonald hit the post before Ben Reeves equalised from the spot after Carl Baker was fouled.

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"I thought we did okay, I really do. We did a lot of things that weren't great today, but we know where we go from here to improve it.

"When you look at the decision for the penalty, how that is not a sending off it literally baffles me. The handball for Anthony Kay baffles me.

"I thought we looked better than what we did the other night (against Bradford), even though we conceded more today. The two breakaway goals we should have dealt with better.

"I'm disappointed for my fans who've travelled here and supported us. We're still in a very good position. Sometimes you have to go through these moments to appreciate the good times. We want them back sooner rather than later."
