Kidderminster 0-2 Macclesfield

Alex Grant
Alex Grant was previously at Portsmouth before joining Stoke City in 2013

Alex Grant scored his first senior goal as third-placed Macclesfield handed play-off hopefuls Kidderminster Harriers a fourth straight home defeat.

Harriers' Aman Verma had an effort cleared off the line in the first half.

On-loan Stoke defender Grant opened the scoring, meeting Paul Turnbull's corner to poke the ball home from close range - the first of two in three minutes.

Waide Fairhurst then collected a Danny Lewis clearance before lobbing the Harriers keeper from almost 50 yards.

Harriers drop to eighth in the Conference table, but are still only a point shy of the play-off zone.

Kidderminster Harriers manager Gary Whild told BBC Hereford & Worcester:

"In a game between two teams in the top six where there's not much in it, we switched off from a set-piece.

"It changed the face of the game. It cost us a goal and, for their second, the lad has hit an unbelievable finish.

"At the moment, teams are making a better fist of coming here and playing the conditions than we are and we've got to try and change that somehow."
