Nuneaton Town 3-2 Chester

Nuneaton edged out Chester in a thrilling game to help boost their survival chances.

James Armson rifled in the opener for Nuneaton, before Lee Fowler's free-kick doubled the advantage.

Chester looked to fight back when substitute Craig Hobson headed in from six yards, but Nuneaton restored their two-goal lead when Marcel Barrington tapped in on his debut.

Burr meets his makers
Steve Burr started his non-league managerial career with Nuneaton in 2000, when he took over following the sacking of Brendan Phillips.

Hobson headed in a second, but Nuneaton held on for a much-needed three points.

Nuneaton, who had keeper Christian Dibble making his debut, are now five points adrift of safety, as Chester drop to 16th.

Chester manager Steve Burr told BBC Radio Merseyside:

"Overall, we deserved to get something out of it, but you've got to be right at it to get a result against any team in this division. It's a very strong league. Anyone can beat anybody.

"We didn't get the rub of the green, but we're improving. It's a good sign of how far we've come in a short time, that, in our squad, we're now turning up expecting to win.

"We've got to stop giving the opposition a two-goal lead. That's three games running now. We got away with it against Bristol Rovers and Dartford. But, defensively, we've got to tighten up.

"We changed things round at half time to try and get back in it. And we did create chances. But we missed Ben Heneghan (injured) and Kingsley James (suspended)."
