Brett Williams scored his ninth goal of the season as Aldershot recorded a third Conference win in four games by seeing off Southport.
Joe Oastler flicked on for Andre McCollin to turn in the Shots' opener.
Aldershot doubled their lead when Brett Williams was brought down and Sam Hatton drilled in a 25-yard free-kick.
Southport found a lifeline as Richard Brodie converted Charlie Joyce's knockdown, but Aldershot sealed the win when Williams rifled past David Raya.
Aldershot climb up two places in the Conference table to 12th, while Southport are now just one place and three points above the drop zone in 20th.
Aldershot Town boss Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:
"That was an outstanding performance, I think the first 30-35 minutes was as good as we've played this season.
"We were totally in control of the game. The character we showed in the second half, we had to dig in.
"You know everyone's filling in at the moment. The graft and the effort and I wouldn't like to play against us with our energy."
