Stenhousemuir bounced back from a run of three straight defeats to prevent Dunfermline Athletic going top of League Two thanks to Kris Faulds' goal.
The home side twice hit the woodwork in the first half through Faulds and Colin McMenamin.
A shot from Dunfermline's Jamie Reid hit the underside of the bar, while Ross Forbes and Alex Whittle had shots saved soon after the interval.
But Faulds won it with a right-foot shot into the bottom-left corner.
The Pars had earlier brought on substitute goalkeeper Ryan Goodfellow after Ryan Scully was felled with a shoulder charge.
