Brad Smith: Liverpool recall Swindon Town's on-loan defender
Swindon Town have signed defender Harry Toffolo on a month's loan from Norwich City after Brad Smith was recalled by parent club Liverpool.
Toffolo, 19, was part of the Canaries' FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2013 but is yet to make a senior appearance.
Full-back Smith joined Town on a youth loan in August.
He made 10 appearances for the League One side but did not feature in the squad on his return from international duty with Australia at the weekend.
"It's one of those things. We can't do anything about it," manager Mark Cooper told BBC Wiltshire.
"He's a great lad and I'm sure he'll go on and have a fantastic career in the game. Hopefully, in the future, we'll have the opportunity to bring him back."
Cooper will be forced to make at least one change to his team for the visit of Rochdale on Tuesday, after captain Nathan Thompson was sent off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Yeovil.
It was the third time this season Swindon have had to play with 10 men, with Thompson picking up two red cards and his brother, Louis, one.
But Scott Mathieson's refereeing performance on Saturday prompted Cooper to voice his discontent at officiating in the league.
"It's so inconsistent it's soul-destroying at times," said Cooper. "All I can do is speak to the head of referees and sound off again.
"I have to write a report and give the referee a mark for his performance from Saturday. But I don't see the point in doing it as nothing changes."
Cooper has previously revealed he planned to bring in a local referee to training in a bid to improve his side's discipline.
But the Town boss said on Monday he feels his players are being victimised during games.
"We have a style of play which should be embraced but I think, at the moment, referees are going the other way," added Cooper.
"They think we're a little bit arrogant and cocky, they're young lads - let's not protect them as much as we should.
"We've had too many decisions against us for it to be a coincidence."
