Hull City goalkeeper Allan McGregor has been ruled out for four to six weeks with a shoulder injury.
The Scotland international, 32, has been troubled for several weeks and has now been prescribed a period of rest, although surgery is not required.
Hull boss Steve Bruce will likely turn to Steve Harper to deputise, starting this weekend against Crystal Palace.
The injury also rules McGregor out of Scotland's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Georgia and Poland later this month.
McGregor has not missed a minute of league football this season, conceding 11 times in six games.
"The specialist has said he needs to rest and stop diving on it," Bruce said. "If you've got a sore shoulder and he's diving on it every day we need to take him out and make sure he recovers.
"Hopefully in four to six weeks he'll be back to normal. We're just delighted he doesn't need an operation. We first thought it might need one."
